15 Jan 2007 - TRIDENT REPORT JANUARY 2007

Hello 2007! Not only are we celebrating the Centenary of the founding of Scouting but also the 95th Anniversary of Scouting in Eynsford!

As a Group we are proud to still have a link with our group Founder via Guy Hart Dyke whose aunt founded our Group in 1912.

So what has 2007 got in store for us?

On a local level we still have our traditional village events; Jumble Sale, Village Fun Day plus the Boot Fair & Fireworks, which we support. Also we are planning some 95th Anniversary Events, to which all ex member will be invited. These will be a 95th Anniversary Family Camp and an Anniversary dinner later in the year. Plus of course our legendary Family Fun Day!

On the 1st of August, Internationally, Nationally, County (Kent) & locally  Swanley District wise we will be attending a Sunrise Camp, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting when Baden Powell started the first Scout Camp 100 years ago on Brownsea Island. All Scouts throughout the World will renew their promise at 8am GMT.

Little did they know the few who met at Lullingstone Castle in 1912 that they were at the forefront of what is now the largest youth organisation in the world!

The Scout Association has branded this year, as a “Year of Adventure” for us Scouts so whoever you are if you want Adventure then this is the year to go for it!
