Guy Hart Dyke, Group President, announced the winner of the Group wide competition to design a 95th Anniversary Badge to celebrate the 1st Eynsford & Farningham Scout Group’s 95th Birthday.

The sectional winners from the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers were invited to Lullingstone Castle, the spiritual home of the Group for a ceremony to unveil the winner. Jodie Hummersone (Beavers); Oliver Pragnell & William Fussell (Cubs) and Dawn Turnbull (Scouts & Explorers) met in the Grand Hall accompanied by parents, family and leaders for the announcement. All the designs were displayed and Guy presented each sectional winner with their prize from the Group plus a small goodie bag from the Castle. The overall winner was Dawn Turnbull, whose design is to be used as the Group badge for the year. Not only that, we are hoping the Village of the Year team can turn it into a floral display in the village.
SAINSBURY’S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS

The Group has registered for this year’s Sainsbury’s Active Kids voucher promotion. We have a collection box at the Scout Hall. We appreciate that ARCPS has traditionally collected these vouchers, however this year the Scout & Guide Association have been invited to collect vouchers for their Groups to exchange for sports, activity and catering equipment. If you have any vouchers you can spare to donate to the Group, please send them in via a Beaver, Cub, Scout, Brownie, Guide or hand them to any of the leaders you may know in the village.

We are holding a Comic Relief Trading Post Challenge & Domino Rally for the entire Group, on Saturday 17th March at the Scout Hall to raise funds for Comic Relief. The young people will compete in teams to complete a set of challenges, which can be exchanged for money. The teams will have to buy materials form the leaders to complete their challenges and then try and sell the complete challenge back to earn dominoes for the domino rally. One of the challenges is for each young person to sell dominoes at 50p each; the sponsor will have their name written on the domino and entered into the rally. A member of the team that wins the trading post will be invited to push over the first domino! We hope to have over 400 dominos sponsored or entered in the rally. All are welcome to come along to sponsor a domino on the day!
